Multimedia Usage

Multimedia application normally combines at least one discrete and one continuous media type. Discreet is the element in space based, such as text and image or graphic, and continuous is the element in time based, like audio, video, and animation. Multimedia doesn’t exist without either one of the elements.

Multimedia is quite important in every field, everyone who plans to function productively in the 21 century society have to know how to use and manipulate multimedia.

Multimedia Usage in Business

Multimedia can help users to build or develop their business area if they can use it in right way. E.g.: E-shopping. E-shopping means shopping via internet. For this example, distributor is not needed and users can select products without time restriction. They can compare products which are offered by different web site easily by using certain tools.

Multimedia Usage in Entertainment

One of the earliest applications of multimedia was for games. Multimedia made possible innovative and interactive games that greatly enhanced the learning experience. Games could come alive with sounds and animated graphics. However, multimedia is not only use in games field, but also in making movies and virtual reality. Many techniques need to create the special effect, like morph, superimpose and animation.
