graphic, video & audio

Graphic
Graphic is defined as an image or visual representation of an item. In general, graphics combine text, illustration, and color. In the computer, a graphic is a file such as a JPEG or GIF. There are two types of graphic, bitmap and vector graphic. Image bitmap is formed by one group of pixels that stored in the computer. Vector graphic known also as structured graphic or object-oriented graphic. A picture has thousand of words. It means that graphic is more effective compare to text.

Video
Video is the technology of electronically capturing, recording, processing, storing, transmitting, and reconstructing a sequence of still images representing scenes in motion(Wikipedia). Video can be categorized into two group, analog video and digital video.

For analog, video is kept in form of signal television video, video tape, film or which media non-computational. The 2 major standards of analog video are PAL (Phase Alternating Line) and NTSC (National Television System Committee).

Digital video is video signal analogue that has digitized in format numeric. The main advantage of digital video is can be kept for a long time and the information will remain all the time.

Video can be captured by existing hardware like video camera and camcorder. We can also edit the information of a video by using the following software: Adobe Premiere and Video Fusion.

Audio
Audio is sound that we can hear. A sound wave is affected by frequency and amplitude itself. In computers, audio is the sound system which can be heard by using speaker installed. Sometimes, we can’t listen to a sound because its format is not supported by computer. Audio format refers to the types of audio files a device can play. There are few types of format audio: AIFF & AIF, MID, MIDI & MFF, RIFF, SND, WAV, RAM and RA, AU, and MP3.

Audio can be used to attract the focus of people around in order to give impact in their behaviors and thinking. Besides, audio is useful to help people to understand a concept or information that can’t be explained by using text and graphic.

In generally, 3 features can give impact to an audio, that are sample rate, sample size and channel. Sample rate(Hz) is depends. The higher the sample rate, the higher the quality of a sound wave. Sample size refers to how much information will be kept in a sample. Two sample size types are major used, 8 bits or 16 bits. Lastly is channel. There are two types of channel that frequently used in audio playback: 1) mono and 2) stereo.
